Grade 4 Outdoor School – Senses

Exploring the senses provides the conceptual focus for students in their 1st Outdoor School program in Gr. 4. The Big Idea connecting the different field studies is that ‘all living things sense and respond to their environment’. This idea provides a unifying theme for students’ inquiry across a range of different field study experiences. Additional framing for the Outdoor School program is provided through Cheakamus Centre’s Guiding Principles that provide a framework that informs the overall program design and student experience. More information on the guiding principles and how these connect and support curriculum competencies can be found in the ODS Teacher’s Guide.
